When structures serve the public, leadership carries lasting responsibility. As Chief Operations Officer and Principal at Reaveley Engineers, Jerod helps ensure projects are delivered with care, rigor, and respect for the communities they serve.
A Utah native, Jerod earned all three of his degrees, including a PhD in structural engineering, from the University of Utah. With more than 25 years at Reaveley, he has led some of the firm’s most visible and technically demanding work across higher education, healthcare, and parking structures, project types that require durability, resilience, and precise coordination among many stakeholders. His work as project manager on the Utah State Capitol Renovation and Base Isolation is nationally recognized for advancing seismic performance while honoring historic architecture, constructability, and public stewardship.
Jerod is widely respected for his expertise in seismic design, advanced structural modeling, and technical communication. His work has received professional recognition for innovation and performance, and his published research and articles have advanced seismic design practice across the profession. A past president of the Structural Engineers Association of Utah, he remains actively engaged in professional leadership and education.
As Chief Operations Officer, Jerod focuses on how work gets done. He strengthens delivery through clear standards, coordinated systems, and collaboration across teams, helping ensure projects move from planning through construction with consistency, accountability, and care.
An adjunct professor at the University of Utah, Jerod teaches concrete, masonry, and timber design, bringing an educator’s rigor and clarity to both the classroom and practice. Outside of his role at Reaveley, he enjoys classic rock and playing guitar, bringing the same focus and enthusiasm to everything he does.
