The University of Utah's School of Dentistry is the first establishment at a major public academic medical center since 1971. The four-story building in Research Park supports education and community care, featuring a 62-station dental clinic, oral surgery suite, pediatric care, diagnostics, and support services. Upper floors include classrooms, lecture halls, research and simulation labs, student spaces, and administrative offices, with future research expansion in mind.
Through strong collaboration with the university and project partners, Reaveley helped shape a facility that reflects a unified vision. The teams emphasized natural light, connection, and collaboration, with a central reception hall offering scenic views and informal study areas. The architecture draws inspiration from the Wasatch foothills, using textured masonry and terra cotta bas-relief to blend with the landscape.
Through clear communication, ethical decision-making, and expert coordination, we delivered a resilient, functional, and inspiring space that balances aesthetics, performance, and long-term adaptability to support generations of learners and care providers.
