Dixie Technical College Permanent Campus Building
Dixie Tech is a major provider of occupational and applied technology education in Southern Utah. After leasing space in various buildings throughout St. George for years, Dixie Tech purchased 30 acres of land on the site of the former St. George Airport. Reaveley Engineers participated in the master plan, program, and design of the school’s permanent campus. The building has two distinct wings: Professional and Industrial. The school’s Professional Programs include drafting and design, dental office/assistant, culinary arts, graphic arts, CNA, and medical assisting. The Industrial Trades Programs wing features direct access to the former airport runway for vehicle maneuvering and outdoor training. Diesel tech, OpX, welding, automotive, and auto-body programs utilize shop space, some spaces with double height. A 500-person auditorium, study lounges, cafe, bookstore, testing center, copy center, and other flexible spaces maximize high-frequency use and shared spaces.
