Situated atop Hidden Peak in the breathtaking Wasatch Mountain Range, the Summit stands as an integral part of Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, serving as a guest service hub and mountain restaurant. With expansive windows the size of two IMAX theater screens, the Summit provides a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view. The main floor caters to skier services, offering restrooms, a coffee shop, ski patrol facilities, and a cafeteria accommodating up to 190 guests. On the second level is a 180-seat private dining area, service zones, and two outdoor decks. Part of the resort's original 40-year master plan, this structure replaced the Ski Patrol/Warming Hut and was erected over two construction seasons due to snow and limited mountain access.The design considers the high winds, snow loads, and challenging mountain peak conditions. SidePlate moment frame connections ensure minimal building movement during severe winds, enduring Utah's highest recorded wind speeds.
