Senior Engineer

Working with existing and historic buildings requires both deep technical care and genuine respect for what those structures represent. Extending their life and performance means listening closely to what a building is telling you. Jacob brings clarity, curiosity, and thoughtful judgment to complex existing building projects, helping owners move forward with confidence.

Drawing on deep experience in performance-based design and nonlinear analysis, Jacob leads Reaveley’s Existing Buildings Expert Group. He plays a key role in evaluating and upgrading Utah’s existing and historic structures. He is known for taking the time to understand each building’s story and constraints, balancing seismic performance, code requirements, and long-term value with architectural and historical sensitivity. Clients value his clear communication, practical solutions, and ability to make complex analysis feel approachable and actionable.

Jacob’s work reflects a genuine care for the built environment and the communities it serves. He brings both precision and patience to his projects, helping teams make informed decisions that respect what already exists while planning responsibly for the future.

In his personal time, Jacob’s enthusiasm carries through everything he does. He loves both watching and playing soccer and dreams of traveling to London to see Arsenal play at Emirates Stadium. His happy place is a family pool party or a night at the theater enjoying musicals with his wife. Originally from Los Angeles, he still holds a soft spot for beach days and great al pastor tacos.
