Director, Concrete & Façade Restoration 

Utah’s most client-driven structural engineering firm is seeking a self-motivated director to lead our concrete restoration market sector. You will maintain a high level of trust with our existing team and clients.

You will develop and lead a team of 8-10 staff to serve concrete restoration clients. Our restoration projects are parking structures, high-rise condominiums, hotels, commercial offices, medical facilities, and others. As team leader, you will be responsible for providing operational oversight and expertise to projects from start to closeout.

You will be located in Salt Lake City, a must since you are often expected to go to local project sites on short notice (allowance for out-of-state relocation). Projects are primarily along the Wasatch Front. We will meet the salary requirements of the right candidate. Typical benefits in line with the AEC industry. This position has a path to firm ownership.

Qualifications

    • Expertise in one of more of the following areas: construction project manager, civil engineer, architect, estimator, corrosion engineer, concrete mix design and coatings (licensing is not required)
    • Writing skills are essential for cost proposals and report writing, however, we will train if you have basic writing skills
    • Demonstrated experience managing projects that include concrete repair, waterproofing, facade repair, masonry repair, coating, and sealants application is a plus
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and Project
    • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage others and projects
    • Good communication skills
    • Ability to travel when necessary

Your Responsibilities

    • Serve as primary client contact and attend OAC meetings
    • Develop/write restoration reports
    • Manage the contract through construction phase administration
    • Survey buildings in the field to document damage to determine the correct course of action
    • Detail-oriented and understand concrete removal, surface preparation, texture, and finishing requirements of owners of high-end structures
    • Oversee a team to develop construction documents – comfortable directing without insisting on micromanaging the work of others
    • Assist owners with bidding of projects and reviewing bids to determine the best value
    • Determine details that will become part of our permanent detail library and help engineers adapt library items for each project
    • Monitor, maintain, and obtain required permits for construction
    • Create schedule of values for each project, maintain and monitor
    • Understand the construction/design industry (RFI’s, pay requests, review and process change orders, etc.)
    • Liaison among architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and field employees
    • Continually update cost model and control at each step of the project to ensure budgetary restrictions are met and in compliance with the stated objectives; maintain profit and loss responsibility, as well as other project financials, i.e., Projections; maintain monthly “cost to complete” updates
    • Supervise and assist in the materials procurement
    • Review the finish samples, mockups, schedules (material, vendors, subs, etc.), shop drawings, and other project-related reports
    • Develop a work plan for each project phase arranging for recruitment or assignment of project personnel
    • Consult with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems
    • Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, contract requirements, and related specifications
    • Manage employee “on the job training” and development objectives

Project Structural Engineer 

Reaveley Engineers seeks a talented Project Structural Engineer. Join us for the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting, high-profile projects in the region while advancing your career.

Responsibilities include:
Structural analysis and design in all material types. Coordination of design work with in-house staff and other design professionals, including architects and other engineering disciplines. Working with in-house CAD/BIM operators for preparation of construction documents.

We encourage you to apply if you meet any of the following criteria:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (or approaching completion) with a Structures emphasis from an ABET accredited program. Minimum 3.2 GPA and a passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination.
  • Masters Degree or PhD in Civil Engineering with a Structures emphasis from an ABET accredited program and a passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination.
  • At least four years of relevant experience in structural design.
  • Currently licensed as a PE or SE in any state.

BIM/CAD Technician

Utah’s most client-driven structural engineering firm is seeking BIM/CAD technicians to join our collaborative team. Reaveley delivers some of Utah’s most notable projects. Job Requirements:

    • AAS and/or 2 years applicable structural or architectural experience
    • Education or training in drafting
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit (Recent releases)
    • Microsoft Office programs
    • Bluebeam (a plus)
    • Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently through both verbal and electronic communications
    • Experience working on all phases of construction documents
    • Strong creative skills and technical background
