The complex includes the Ice Sheet and Robert L. and Annette Marquardt Field House. The Ice Sheet opened in 1994 as a recreational training center for curling, ice hockey, and figure skating. The venue hosted curling events during the 2002 Winter Olympics.
The two-story field house connects to Ice Sheet. The project was a partnership between Weber State University and Weber County and includes an NHL-size ice rink and indoor practice field and strength and condition complex for Wildcat athletes.
This addition essentially doubles the footprint of strength training facilities for Weber State athletics and is a huge recruiting tool for prospective athletes. The 45’ x 68’ yard synthetic turf field has a 30-foot high ceiling and drop-down batting cages.
