The five-story building features large floor-to-ceiling windows, state-of-the-art security systems, new digital audio equipment, separation areas for public and in-custody defendants, 20 holding cells, and six courtrooms. With shelled space for two additional courtrooms, the facility was designed with an eye toward future expansion.

There is office space for judges, court staff, juvenile probation officers, and Weber County Sheriff’s Office security staff. The prototype design features three security zones of separation between the public, court staff, and secure in-custody prisoner transfer.

Coordination and communication between the design and construction team was highly collaborative in order to meet an aggressive 18-month schedule.
