The Outpatient Services Building is the first major expansion to Primary Children’s Hospital in 22 years. This multi-phased project creates a state-of-the-art clinic facility and a four-level parking structure with 1,500 stalls.
The large parking structure incorporates strategically-located expansion joints between garage sections and adjacent buildings to eliminate restraint and allow for movement. This greatly reduces the risk of cracking. Standard sized post-tensioned long span beams were designed to span the unusually large structural bay size (64’ x 27’) to provide column-free space for wider drive aisles.
