Originally named Gateway Tower West, this 20-story office building is located in downtown Salt Lake City and overlooks historic Temple Square.
The building was designed to cantilever out and over the adjacent building to maximize the floor plate. The innovative cantilevered design for floors 6-19 increased the gross square footage and expanded leasing space for the owner. It was designed for both gravity and lateral wind and seismic loads. The floor framing system was designed to avoid human perception of floor vibrations.
Both the office building and four-story, 361-stall structure were designed to seismic zone 4 force levels.
